How warm is it?
It is a mid-weight knit — right on its own indoors, and a good mid-layer under a coat once it turns properly cold.
Will it fit over a shirt?
It will. The body is cut with layering room, so a collared shirt underneath will not pull across the back or shoulders.
Will the knit pill?
Some surface pilling is normal on soft yarns in the first few wears. A cheap fabric comb removes it in seconds and it settles down after that.
