Tap the base and the light rises inside the frame.
A stepped round base supports a slim rectangular frame that arches over the top and meets at a point above it. Inside the frame sits a clear cylinder, lit from underneath so the glow stays low in the tube and fades as it moves upward. The base doubles as the control: a touch raises or lowers the brightness, with no switch or dial anywhere on the body. With no cord attached, the lamp moves easily from a table to a shelf and back again.
